مدار شیلد موتور Monster برای ایجاد قابلیت راه اندازی یک جفت موتور با مصرف جریان بالا تقویت شده است. VIN و خروجی موتور برد برای ترمینال پیچی 5mm آماده شده است.توجه کنید درصورتی که ازین برد برای کابردهایی با مصرف جریان بالا استفاده می کنید. ممکن است برای بهبود عملکرد نیاز به یک هیت سینک یا فن و لحیم کردن سیم مستقیما بر روی برد بجای استفاده از ترمینال پیچی داشته باشید. اگرچه در هنگام استفاده ازاین برد برای جریان های تا 6A به سختی چیپ آن بطور قابل ملاحظه ای گرم می شود.

Introduction

The VNH3ASP30 Dual Monster Motor Driver Shield is a 2-channel DC motor driver shield that can drive 2 motors at up to 12A sustained with adequate heat sinking and 6A without a heat sink.

This shield is based on the VNH3ASP30 driver chip. These devices were originally designed to drive motors in automotive power seats, so they are designed to handle a fair amount of power and can go up to 30A peak and around 12-14A sustained with adequate heat sinking. Without heat sinking, current should be limited to 6A.

Besides high current handling capability, the device provides the ability to measure motor current and provide fault status. These are a great choice when you are either using larger motors or just want to take your motor control to the next level over what a more typical driver module can provide.

This board can be assembled as a shield that will fit the Arduino Uno, Mega 2560 or similar boards, or it can be used as a stand-alone board.  We provide this board as a kit with male headers, stackable male/female headers as well as terminal blocks for power and motor connections.  This gives you the flexibility to configure the board to use as a stand-alone, on a breadboard or as a shield that fits on top of an Arduino with the ability to mount a daughter board.  If using the terminals for the motor connections, it is recommended to cut the pins off flush with the board before soldering.  On some Arduino boards, the USB connector can come close to these pins, so cutting them off provides additional clearance.

When used with DC motors, the H-Bridge drive arrangement allows the direction of the rotation of the motors to be changed.  In addition PWM can be used to control the speed of the motors.  This gives full control over the DC motors.
